This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the R-2000 Showcase of Homes, produced by the Nova Scotia Home Builders’ Association (NSHBA) and featuring some of the latest in R-2000 technology.

The R-2000 Showcase of Homes features 17 homes that will be on display every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm from May 22 to June 13. The homes are located throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality, Enfield and Belnan.

The homes range in size, price ranges and features, but one thing they all have in common is that each of the homes are R-2000 certified.

“The R-2000 Showcase of Homes allows visitors to see for themselves what is available in terms of energy efficient construction and talk to the professionals who build the homes,” says Paul Pettipas, NSHBA chief executive officer. “The benefits of R-2000 construction are vast, but it helps when you can see for yourself what is included in this energy efficient, environmentally friendly housing choice.”

Every R-2000 home is designed, built, tested and certified to meet exacting technical standards that exceed current Canadian building codes. A unique blend of technology and craft, R-2000 homes offer significant energy savings, health and comfort advantages and are more environmentally friendly than the conventional home.

R-2000 homes can only be built by specially trained R-2000 builders. For a list of qualified and registered R-2000 Buidlers, please visit our directory.
