Ask the Experts > Building Awards - What do they mean?

I see a number of builders have one awards and am not sure what they mean or what did the builder accomplish to recieve an award. More specifically, the builder I am in discussions with was the 2010 NSHBA Builder of the Year - sounds great, but, what did they accomplish to recieve the award?

Jason,the Peak Awards are held evevy year to recognize the leaders in the Residential Contruction Industry.An independent panel of judges review submissions from builders/renovators on various projects. Their are individual project awards for builders/renovators and an overall award for Builder of the Year and Renovator of the Year.Builder of the Year would be judged to have built quality homes,dealt fairly and honestly with customers,kept up with good building practises and volunteered in their community as well.
